Namibia, a land of vast deserts and untapped potential, is now at the forefront of Africa’s energy transformation. Energy and marine consultancy ABL has planted its flag in this dynamic nation, aiming to supercharge the local oil & gas sector while accelerating the country’s shift toward sustainable energy.
With a decade-long track record in the region, ABL’s new Namibian entity is more than just an office—it’s a commitment to shaping the future of energy in Africa. From marine technical due diligence to renewable energy consulting, ABL is bringing its A-game to the table.
A New Chapter for Namibia’s Energy Landscape
ABL’s expansion into Namibia isn’t just business as usual. The company is rolling out its full suite of technical services, including rig inspections, marine warranty surveys, and ports consulting. But this isn’t just about oil and gas—ABL is also doubling down on renewable energy, with support from its sister company, OWC, a leading renewable energy consultancy.
“Opening an official entity in Namibia is the natural next step for us,” says Anne Myers, ABL’s Country Manager for South Africa and Namibia. “It cements our commitment to helping the country achieve its energy goals, whether that’s through traditional energy projects or the transition to renewables.”
Africa’s Energy Hub: ABL’s Growing Footprint
Namibia is the latest addition to ABL’s expanding African network, which already includes offices in Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa. The company’s presence in the region is further bolstered by consultancy teams in Algeria and Morocco.
“ABL Namibia represents the next step in our mission to be the go-to energy and marine consultant in Africa,” says Donald MacMillan, ABL’s Regional Managing Director for the Middle East, North & South Africa, and India. “We’re here to support safety, sustainability, and innovation in Africa’s energy and maritime sectors.”
A Global Vision with Local Impact
ABL’s Namibian venture is part of a broader global strategy. Just months ago, the company expanded into New Zealand to support maritime and offshore energy markets. And earlier this month, ABL secured a major contract with Saipem, an Italian energy giant, for a natural gas project off the coast of Libya.
These moves underscore ABL’s ambition to be a global leader in energy and marine consulting, with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation.
